These terms apply to every order for the Second Save Gaming professional disc-cleaning service. They should be read with our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy, Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy.
By placing an order and sending discs to us, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.
1. About Us

2. Nature of the Service
The service is professional cosmetic cleaning and resurfacing of eligible optical discs using specialist equipment.
It is not:
- a guaranteed repair service;
- a guarantee that a disc will become readable or functional;
- a functionality or compatibility test;
- data recovery;
- restoration of label-side or data-layer damage; or
- a guarantee that every scratch or mark will be removed.
We will perform the service with reasonable care and skill.
3. Eligibility and Authority
You must be at least 18 years old to place the order. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must order and send the discs on your behalf.
You confirm that you own the discs or have the owner's authority to submit them and authorise the cleaning or resurfacing process.
Do not send stolen, counterfeit, unlawfully reproduced, contaminated or prohibited material.
4. Ordering, Quantity and Price
One quantity ordered equals one disc.
The standard price and total return-delivery charge are shown before payment. The cleaning price does not include the cost of sending discs to us.
Automatic quantity discounts currently apply as follows:
- 1 to 4 discs: standard price;
- 5 to 9 discs: 10% off the cleaning service;
- 10 to 19 discs: 15% off;
- 20 to 49 discs: 25% off; and
- 50 discs or more: 33% off.
Only the highest qualifying discount applies. Discounts do not combine unless the checkout expressly allows it. Minor differences of a penny can occur because of automatic rounding.
5. Suitable and Unsuitable Discs
We will only process a disc that our inspection indicates is reasonably suitable for the equipment and service.
A disc may be refused if it is:
- cracked, chipped or warped;
- structurally weakened or unsafe to rotate or process;
- contaminated by liquid, mould, adhesive or another unsafe substance;
- affected by severe label-side or data-layer damage;
- an incompatible format, shape, size, coating or construction;
- enclosed in a cartridge or caddy that is not suitable for the equipment;
- unusually valuable or irreplaceable and not suitable for the standard service; or
- otherwise likely to be damaged by normal professional processing.
Contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether a format is suitable.
6. Rare, Collectible and High-Value Discs
Resurfacing physically changes the playing surface and may affect originality, grading or collector value even where the cosmetic appearance improves.
Do not send a sealed, signed, prototype, promotional, historically significant, unusually valuable or irreplaceable disc without contacting us first and receiving written agreement.
We may decline a disc where standard handling or return insurance is not appropriate for its value or significance.
7. Sending Discs to Us
After checkout, we will provide the postal address and packing instructions.
You are responsible for:
- the initial postage cost;
- secure packaging that prevents movement and scratching;
- using an appropriately tracked and insured delivery service;
- retaining proof of postage and tracking information;
- complying with the carrier's rules; and
- including a clear note showing the order number.
Risk remains with you until the parcel is physically delivered to the address we provide. Any claim for loss or damage during the initial journey should be made against the carrier you selected.
8. What to Include
Send the discs and only the protective packaging reasonably needed for safe transport.
Do not send retail cases, artwork, manuals, inserts, memory cards, unrelated items or valuable packaging unless we have agreed in writing. The service price covers discs only.
If additional property is included accidentally, we will take reasonable steps to identify and return it, but it may delay processing or increase the return-delivery cost.
9. Confirmed Receipt
Confirmed receipt occurs when the parcel has been physically received and successfully matched to the relevant order.
A delivery scan from the carrier may happen before internal confirmation, particularly where a parcel lacks an order number or is delivered with a large group of parcels.
We may contact you if we cannot identify a parcel or if the contents do not match the order.
10. Inspection Before Cleaning
We inspect discs before processing. This is a suitability inspection, not a test of whether the disc works.
If a disc appears unsuitable, we will not knowingly process it. We will return it and provide an appropriate refund or price adjustment for the unperformed cleaning service. Return postage remains payable where the disc must still be sent back.
Where suitability cannot reasonably be determined until ordinary processing begins, pre-existing structural damage or weakness may become apparent during the service. We will take reasonable care and will contact you if further work would be unsafe or inappropriate.
11. Authorisation to Clean or Resurface
By sending an eligible disc, you authorise us to:
- inspect its condition;
- clean its surface;
- use professional resurfacing equipment and suitable consumables;
- perform the number of reasonable processing stages we consider appropriate; and
- stop processing if continuing would create an unreasonable risk.
The process is not reversible and the post-service surface may differ from the original factory finish.
12. Expected Results and Limitations
Surface marks and light scratches can often be removed or significantly reduced, frequently leaving an eligible disc looking close to new.
Results vary according to the disc format, materials, age and the location, depth and type of damage. Deep scratches may remain or may already have caused permanent damage. Cracks, chips, warping, label-side damage and data-layer damage cannot be repaired by ordinary resurfacing.
We do not promise a particular cosmetic grade or percentage improvement unless expressly agreed in writing for the specific disc.
13. Functionality
We do not normally test whether customer-owned discs worked before cleaning or whether they work afterwards.
A disc may remain unreadable or non-functioning because of damage that cleaning cannot correct, including label-side damage, data-layer failure, manufacturing defects, disc rot, console or drive incompatibility, region restrictions or pre-existing faults.
The fact that a disc does not work after cleaning does not by itself establish that the service was performed without reasonable care and skill.
14. Turnaround
Eligible discs are normally cleaned, checked, securely packed and dispatched back within six operating hours after confirmed receipt.
Operating hours are 8:00am to 8:00pm UK time. Only time during those hours counts towards the six-hour period.
For example, a parcel confirmed at 7:00pm has one operating hour counted that day, with the remaining period continuing from 8:00am the next day.
The six-hour commitment may be affected by:
- an unusually large order;
- an unidentified or incomplete parcel;
- a quantity mismatch;
- specialist assessment;
- unsuitable or severely damaged discs;
- equipment failure despite reasonable maintenance;
- severe weather, power or network failure;
- carrier disruption; or
- another event outside our reasonable control.
We will contact you where a material delay occurs. The six-hour period concerns dispatch from us and is separate from the carrier's delivery time.
15. Return Delivery
The delivery charge paid at checkout covers one return journey from Second Save Gaming to the United Kingdom address supplied with the order. It does not cover your initial journey to us.
Returned discs are securely packed and sent using the service shown at checkout. Tracking information is normally provided after dispatch.
Risk in the return parcel remains with Second Save Gaming until it is delivered to you, a person or location authorised by you, or an authorised collection point, where we arranged the carrier.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate return address and collecting the parcel where required. A reasonable redelivery charge may apply if a parcel is returned because of an incorrect address or failure to collect.
16. Quantity Differences
More discs than ordered
We will normally process only the number paid for. We may contact you to arrange payment for additional discs or return them unprocessed. We will not take an additional payment without your agreement.
Fewer discs than ordered
We will process the eligible discs received and calculate an appropriate adjustment. If the lower quantity changes the bulk-discount tier, we will explain the calculation before requesting any additional payment or performing work dependent on that adjustment.
Unsuitable discs
If one or more discs are unsuitable, we will provide an appropriate refund or adjustment for the unperformed cleaning. We may recalculate a quantity discount fairly, but we will not take an extra payment without your express agreement.
17. Cancellation Right
The disc-cleaning order is a distance service contract. You normally have 14 calendar days beginning the day after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason.
Email hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk with your name and order number to cancel.
18. Request to Start During the Cancellation Period
The service is designed to begin promptly after your discs arrive. To receive service during the 14-day cancellation period, you must expressly request early performance and acknowledge that:
- if you cancel after work begins, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to cancellation; and
- once the service has been fully performed, you lose the change-of-mind right to cancel.
The request must be an active choice and must not be pre-selected on your behalf.
If you do not provide a valid request and acknowledgement, we will not begin the service until the 14-day period expires or you later give a valid request.
19. Cancellation Before Work Begins
If you cancel before sending the discs, we will refund the cleaning charge and unused return-postage charge.
If the discs have already been sent or received but work has not begun, we will normally refund the cleaning charge. The return-postage charge may be retained or used to return the discs. Your initial postage cost is not refundable because it was arranged by you.
20. Cancellation After Work Begins or Completion
If you validly requested early performance and cancel after work begins but before completion, we may retain or charge a fair amount proportionate to the service already provided and any return cost required.
If the service has been fully performed after your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right ends. This does not affect your rights if the service was not performed with reasonable care and skill.
21. Service Problems and Statutory Remedies
Contact hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk promptly if you believe the service was not performed with reasonable care and skill or if a disc was damaged while in our care.
Where the service does not conform to the contract, you may be entitled to repeat performance at no additional cost. If repeat performance is impossible, cannot be completed within a reasonable time or would cause significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction.
We may ask for photographs, the return of the disc or other reasonable evidence needed to investigate. We will not require you to incur an unreasonable cost to establish a valid complaint.
22. Pre-Existing Damage
We are not responsible for a failure or deterioration caused solely by pre-existing damage, structural weakness, disc rot, contamination, previous poor resurfacing or another condition that was not caused by our lack of reasonable care and skill.
This does not exclude responsibility for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our negligence, breach of contract or failure to perform the service with reasonable care and skill.
23. Lost or Damaged Parcels
Initial journey to us
You selected and contracted with the initial carrier. Risk remains with you until physical delivery to us. Retain proof of postage and make any initial-transit claim with that carrier.
Return journey from us
Where we arranged the return carrier, we remain responsible until delivery to you or an authorised person or location. Contact us if tracking shows a material delay, loss or damage so that we can investigate and provide the appropriate remedy.
24. Undeliverable or Unclaimed Returns
If a return parcel is undeliverable or uncollected, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you. You may have to pay the reasonable cost of another delivery where the failure was caused by an incorrect address or failure to collect.
If we cannot obtain instructions after reasonable contact attempts, we will hold the property for a reasonable period and deal with it only after giving any notice required by law. Reasonable storage or redelivery costs may be recoverable where legally permitted and clearly explained.
25. Records and Privacy
We may record disc condition, cleaning, packing and dispatch through notes, photographs or video where reasonably required to perform the service, prevent fraud or resolve a complaint or delivery issue.
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
26. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for:
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- damage caused by failure to use reasonable care and skill;
- breach of statutory consumer rights; or
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or negligence. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made or for a disappointing outcome that results solely from a disclosed limitation of the service rather than a failure to use reasonable care and skill.
The service is supplied for private use unless we agree otherwise. For business use, we are not responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or business interruption except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
27. Complaints
Email hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk with your name, order number, details of the issue and supporting photographs or tracking information where available.
We will investigate and aim to provide a fair response within a reasonable period.
28. Changes and Governing Law
We may update these terms for future orders. The version applying to an order is normally the version in force when the service contract was formed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers elsewhere in the United Kingdom retain mandatory protections and court rights applying where they live.
