Refund policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This policy explains how cancellations, returns, refunds and problems with goods or services are handled by Second Save Gaming. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Second Save Gaming is operated by Adam Taylor, a sole trader trading as Second Save Gaming.
1. Cancelling a Retail Order Before Dispatch
Email hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk as soon as possible if you want to cancel an order before it is dispatched. Please include your name and order number.
Because we prepare orders quickly, we cannot guarantee that an order can be stopped after packing or dispatch has begun. If it has already been dispatched, you may still use any applicable cancellation and return rights described below.
2. Change-of-Mind Cancellation for Goods
For most goods purchased online, you may cancel without giving a reason.
You must tell us that you wish to cancel within 14 calendar days beginning the day after you, or a person nominated by you, receives the goods. After telling us, you then have a further 14 calendar days to send the goods back.
To start a return, email hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk and include:
- your name;
- your order number;
- the product being returned; and
- confirmation that you wish to cancel.
You do not have to provide a reason when using the statutory change-of-mind right.
Please wait for return instructions before sending anything back so that the return can be identified and processed correctly.
3. Condition of Change-of-Mind Returns
You may inspect goods in the same way that you reasonably could in a physical shop.
Returned goods should include all components, cases, manuals, cables, controllers, accessories, inserts and other items originally supplied. They should be packaged securely to prevent damage in transit.
We may make a lawful deduction from the refund if handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods has reduced their value. This can include avoidable damage, excessive use, missing parts, alterations, unauthorised repairs, account or activation locks, removed serial-number labels or a materially different return condition.
This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
4. Sealed Games and Software
The statutory change-of-mind right does not apply to sealed audio recordings, sealed video recordings or sealed computer software once the seal has been broken after delivery. This may apply to factory-sealed video games or software.
Breaking a seal does not remove your statutory rights if the product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described. Pre-owned games that were already unsealed when supplied are not excluded from ordinary change-of-mind rights merely because they are pre-owned.
5. Return Postage for Change-of-Mind Goods Returns
For an ordinary change-of-mind return, you are responsible for arranging and paying for return postage.
Use an appropriately tracked and insured service, retain proof of postage and package the goods securely. We are not responsible for a return parcel before it reaches us where you arranged the return carrier yourself, although this does not affect liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Faulty, Damaged, Incorrect or Misdescribed Goods
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose made known to us and as described. For pre-owned goods, age, price, disclosed condition and normal signs of previous use are relevant, but disclosed wear does not remove your statutory rights in relation to an undisclosed fault.
Contact hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk promptly if an item is faulty, unsafe, damaged in transit, incorrect, incomplete or materially different from its description. Include your order number and a clear explanation. We may ask for photographs or reasonable diagnostic information.
Depending on the circumstances, your rights may include:
- the short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods within 30 days;
- repair or replacement;
- a price reduction; or
- a final right to reject where a repair or replacement is unavailable, unsuccessful, cannot be provided within a reasonable time or would cause significant inconvenience.
Where a return is required because goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed, we will provide or reimburse a reasonable return method as appropriate.
7. Cancelling the Disc-Cleaning Service
The disc-cleaning service is a service contract. You normally have 14 calendar days beginning the day after the contract is made to cancel it without giving a reason.
Our service is designed to begin promptly after your discs are received. If you expressly ask us to begin during the 14-day cancellation period:
- you may still cancel before the service is fully performed;
- if work has already begun, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to the time of cancellation; and
- once the service has been fully performed, you lose the change-of-mind right to cancel, provided you expressly requested early performance and acknowledged that consequence.
If you do not expressly request early performance, we will not begin the service until the cancellation period has expired or you later provide a valid express request.
To cancel, email hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk with your name and order number.
Before you send the discs
If you cancel before sending the discs and before work begins, we will refund the service charge and any unused return-postage charge.
After the discs have been sent or received
If you cancel after the discs have been sent to us but before work begins, the service charge will normally be refunded. The return-postage charge may be retained or used to return your discs. You remain responsible for the initial cost of sending the discs to us.
If you cancel after work begins, we may deduct a fair and proportionate amount for work already completed, together with any return-delivery cost actually required.
After the service is completed
Where you validly requested early performance and acknowledged the loss of the cancellation right, the change-of-mind cancellation right ends once the service has been fully performed. This does not affect your rights if the service was not carried out with reasonable care and skill.
8. Problems With the Disc-Cleaning Service
We will perform the disc-cleaning service with reasonable care and skill.
If the service does not meet that standard, you may be entitled to repeat performance at no additional cost. If repeat performance is impossible, cannot be completed within a reasonable time or would cause significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction, which can be up to the full service price in suitable circumstances.
Disc cleaning is a cosmetic cleaning and resurfacing service. It is not a guaranteed repair, functionality test or data-recovery service. A disc's failure to work, or a limited cosmetic improvement caused by pre-existing deep scratches, cracks, chips, warping, label-side damage or data-layer damage, does not by itself show that the service was performed without reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility for damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
9. Unsuitable or Unprocessed Discs
We may refuse to clean a disc that appears unsafe, structurally damaged, incompatible with our equipment or otherwise unsuitable for processing.
Where a disc is not processed, we will provide an appropriate refund or adjustment for that disc's cleaning charge. Return postage is not refundable where it is still required to send the disc back. If a quantity difference changes an automatic bulk-discount tier, we will explain any proposed adjustment before taking an additional payment or beginning work affected by that adjustment.
10. Refund Method and Timing
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise.
For a valid cancellation of goods, we may withhold the refund until we receive the goods back or receive evidence that you have sent them, whichever happens first. We will issue the refund within the period required by law.
For a valid cancellation of a service contract, we will issue the refund within 14 days after you tell us that you are cancelling, subject to any lawful proportionate charge for service already supplied.
For a valid cancellation of an entire goods order, we will refund:
- the price paid for the returned goods; and
- the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery option available when the order was placed.
If you selected a more expensive delivery method, the additional amount above the standard-delivery cost is not normally refundable for a change-of-mind cancellation. Original delivery charges are not normally refunded where only part of an order is returned, unless the circumstances or your statutory rights require otherwise.
The time taken for funds to appear after we issue a refund depends on your bank or payment provider.
