Terms of service
Last updated: 28 July 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Second Save Gaming website and any purchase, disc-cleaning order, trade-in or other transaction with Second Save Gaming. Please read them before placing an order or sending property to us.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including your statutory consumer rights.
1. About Us
Second Save Gaming is operated by:
Adam Taylor, trading as Second Save Gaming
Flat 85 Beaumont Court
61-71 Victoria Avenue
Southend-on-Sea
Essex
SS2 6BX
United Kingdom
Email: hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk
Website: secondsavegaming.co.uk
Second Save Gaming is a sole-trader business and is not currently registered for VAT.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order, enter into a contract, submit or complete a trade-in or manage a customer account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the transaction on your behalf.
You must provide complete and accurate information and be legally entitled to use the payment method, delivery address and property involved in a transaction.
3. Customer Accounts
You may be able to create or access a customer account using an email address or another available sign-in method.
You are responsible for keeping your account and email account secure and for contacting us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or restrict an account where we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, unlawful activity or a security risk.
4. Products and Pre-Owned Condition
Second Save Gaming primarily sells pre-owned games, consoles, accessories and related items.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, pre-owned products may show signs of previous use. We will make reasonable efforts to describe each product accurately, including its condition, included contents and any material defect of which we are aware.
Product photographs normally show the actual item where stated. Minor colour differences can result from lighting, photography and screen settings.
Pre-owned products are inspected and tested as appropriate for their type. Testing does not guarantee that an item will remain free from faults indefinitely and does not affect your statutory rights.
5. Product Information, Availability and Errors
We take reasonable care to keep descriptions, prices and availability accurate. However, an item may occasionally become unavailable or a listing may contain an obvious error.
We may correct information before accepting an order. If we cannot supply an item, or if there is an obvious pricing or listing error that a reasonable customer would recognise, we may reject or cancel the affected order and refund any payment taken.
6. Prices
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Second Save Gaming is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not separately charged.
The total payable, including any delivery charge, discount or other required cost, is shown before you place the order. You must review the basket and checkout information before payment.
7. Placing an Order and Contract Formation
Placing an order is an offer to purchase the selected goods or services.
For retail goods, an automated order confirmation normally acknowledges receipt of your order but does not necessarily mean that it has been accepted. The contract is formed when we confirm acceptance or dispatch the goods, whichever occurs first.
For the disc-cleaning service, the contract is formed when we accept the service order and issue confirmation, subject to our right to refuse unsuitable or prohibited discs and provide the appropriate refund.
We may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance for a legitimate reason, including unavailability, an obvious error, unsuccessful payment, suspected fraud, a delivery restriction or an unmet age-verification requirement.
8. Payment
Available payment methods are displayed at checkout. Payment must be authorised before goods are dispatched or a paid service is performed.
Payment or buy-now-pay-later services supplied by third parties are subject to their own terms, eligibility checks and privacy information. We are not responsible for a third-party provider declining a payment or application.
We may conduct reasonable checks and request additional information where necessary to prevent fraud or protect customers and the business. We will not ask you to send complete payment-card security information by email.
9. Discounts and Promotions
Promotions are subject to any specific terms displayed with them. Unless expressly stated otherwise, discounts cannot be exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively and may not be combined.
The professional disc-cleaning service currently uses automatic quantity discounts:
- 5 to 9 discs: 10% off the cleaning service;
- 10 to 19 discs: 15% off;
- 20 to 49 discs: 25% off; and
- 50 discs or more: 33% off.
Only the highest qualifying quantity discount applies. The checkout calculation is final, subject to correction of an obvious error. If the number of eligible discs actually received differs from the quantity ordered, the separate Disc Cleaning Service Terms explain how an adjustment is handled.
We may change or end a promotion for future orders. A change will not retrospectively alter a contract already formed.
10. Delivery of Retail Goods
We currently deliver to United Kingdom addresses unless the website states otherwise.
Delivery methods, charges and estimated times are shown at checkout. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed dates unless expressly agreed. Weekends, public holidays, carrier delays and events outside our reasonable control may affect delivery.
Risk in retail goods remains with us until the goods are delivered to you, a person nominated by you or an authorised safe place or collection point. Ownership passes after full payment and delivery.
You are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate address. Reasonable redelivery costs may be charged where a parcel is returned because of an incorrect address or failure to collect, provided the problem was not caused by us or our carrier.
Further information appears in our Shipping Policy.
11. Cancellations, Returns and Faulty Goods
Your cancellation, return and refund rights are described in our Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy.
Goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for any particular purpose made known to us. If goods are faulty, damaged, unsafe, incorrect or materially different from their description, contact hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk promptly.
12. Age-Rated Products
Some games or media may be subject to an age classification or legal sales restriction. We may refuse or cancel an order where a legally required age check is not satisfied. A parent or guardian is responsible for deciding whether non-restricted content is suitable for a child in their care.
Disc-Cleaning Service
13. Nature of the Service
The professional disc-cleaning service is a cosmetic cleaning and resurfacing service for eligible optical discs. It is not a guaranteed repair, functionality test or data-recovery service.
One quantity ordered equals one disc. You must own the discs or have the owner's authority to submit them. By sending a disc, you authorise us to inspect and professionally clean or resurface its playable surface using a method we reasonably consider suitable.
Resurfacing changes the playing surface and may affect originality or collector grading. Contact us before sending a rare, unusually valuable, signed, prototype, historically significant or otherwise irreplaceable disc. We may decline items that are unsuitable for the standard service.
14. Sending Discs to Us
You pay and arrange the initial journey to us. Use secure packaging and an appropriately tracked and insured service. Risk remains with you until the parcel is physically delivered to the address we provide.
Include the order number and send only the discs and packaging reasonably needed for protection. Do not send unrelated property, retail artwork, manuals or valuable cases unless agreed.
The delivery charge paid at checkout covers the return journey from Second Save Gaming to the UK address supplied with the order. It does not cover the initial journey to us.
15. Inspection and Unsuitable Discs
We may refuse to process a disc that is cracked, chipped, warped, contaminated, structurally unsafe, incompatible with our equipment, affected by severe label-side or data-layer damage, or otherwise unsuitable.
If a disc is not processed, we will provide an appropriate refund or adjustment for that disc's cleaning charge. The return-postage charge remains payable where it is needed to return the property.
16. Results and Functionality
Surface marks and light scratches can often be removed or significantly reduced, but results depend on the type, location and severity of existing damage. Deep scratches, cracks, chips, warping, label-side damage and damage to the data layer may be permanent.
We do not normally test whether a customer-owned disc worked before it was sent or whether it works afterwards. A disc that was unreadable or faulty before cleaning may remain unreadable or faulty afterwards.
A limited cosmetic improvement or failure to restore functionality does not by itself mean that the service was performed without reasonable care and skill.
17. Turnaround and Return
Eligible discs are normally cleaned, packed and dispatched within six operating hours after confirmed receipt. Operating hours are 8:00am to 8:00pm UK time. Only time falling within those hours counts towards the six-hour period.
Confirmed receipt means that the parcel has been physically received and matched to the relevant order. A carrier's first delivery scan may not always be the same time as internal confirmation.
The six-hour commitment may be affected by an unusually large order, an unidentified parcel, specialist assessment, unsuitable discs, equipment failure, severe weather, carrier disruption or another circumstance outside our reasonable control. We will contact you where a material delay occurs.
18. Cooling-Off Period and Early Performance
A consumer normally has 14 days after the disc-cleaning contract is made to cancel the service.
To receive the advertised prompt turnaround during that period, you must expressly request that we begin as soon as the discs arrive and acknowledge that:
- if you cancel after work begins, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for service already supplied; and
- once the service is fully performed, you lose the change-of-mind right to cancel.
If you do not provide that express request and acknowledgement, we will wait until the cancellation period expires or until you later provide a valid request before starting.
19. Service Standard
We will perform the service with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to do so, your statutory remedies may include repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for damage or loss caused by our negligence, failure to use reasonable care and skill, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of statutory rights or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
The full service terms appear in our Disc Cleaning Service Terms and Conditions and form part of every disc-cleaning order.
Trade-In Service
20. Trade-Ins
Customers may offer eligible gaming products to us for payment by bank transfer or store credit. A provisional quotation is based on the information supplied and is not guaranteed until the items have been received, inspected and tested.
You must own the items or have the owner's authority, disclose known faults and ensure that the items are not stolen, counterfeit, subject to finance or otherwise unlawful.
The separate Trade-In Terms and Conditions govern the complete quotation, inspection, payment, postage and return process and form part of every trade-in transaction.
General Website Terms
21. Reviews, Forms and Other Submissions
Information you submit must be accurate, lawful and relevant. Reviews must reflect a genuine experience and must not be fabricated, incentivised without disclosure, defamatory, abusive, infringing or misleading.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive permission to use, reproduce and display it where reasonably necessary to provide the relevant function, answer your enquiry, publish a review you asked to submit or protect our legal rights.
22. Intellectual Property
The website design, original text, photographs, graphics and Second Save Gaming branding are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law.
You may use the website for personal shopping and information. You must not reproduce, republish, scrape, sell or commercially exploit protected content without permission, except where law permits.
Third-party product names, game titles, platform names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation.
23. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- use the website for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- attempt unauthorised access to the website, another account or connected systems;
- introduce malware or harmful material;
- interfere with website operation or security;
- submit false payment, delivery, service or trade-in information;
- misuse promotions, returns, chargebacks or customer accounts; or
- infringe another person's rights.
We may restrict access or cancel an affected transaction where reasonably necessary, subject to your statutory rights.
24. Third-Party Services and Links
The website may use or link to services operated by third parties, including Shopify, payment providers, delivery companies and social platforms. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy information. We are not responsible for the independent content or availability of an external website, although this does not affect responsibility we have for providers acting on our behalf.
25. Privacy and Cookies
Our use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. Non-essential cookies are used only where the required consent has been obtained.
26. Website Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but uninterrupted access is not guaranteed. We may suspend access for maintenance, security, technical problems or events outside our reasonable control.
We may change website content, product ranges, future prices and these terms. The version applying to an existing contract is normally the version in force when that contract was formed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.
27. Our Responsibility to You
We do not exclude or limit responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.
If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of that failure or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
Products and services are supplied for private use unless we expressly agree otherwise. If you use them for business purposes, we are not responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, revenue, opportunity or business interruption, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
28. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by an event outside our reasonable control, such as carrier disruption, severe weather, power or network failure, industrial action, fire, flood, epidemic, legal restriction or failure of essential equipment despite reasonable precautions.
We will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect and contact you where the event materially affects an order or service. Your rights to cancel for serious delay remain unaffected.
29. Complaints
Email hello@secondsavegaming.co.uk with your name, order or trade-in reference and a clear explanation. We will investigate and aim to provide a fair response within a reasonable period.
30. General Legal Terms
If a provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
If we do not enforce a provision immediately, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your contractual rights or obligations without our consent, except where law allows. We may transfer our rights or obligations as part of a genuine business transfer, provided this does not reduce your rights.
31. Governing Law and Courts
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory protections applying where you live and may be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in these terms removes a mandatory right to use another competent UK court.
